You also have to select the type of vending you are going to do. There is a vending machine for almost everything in our lives... from gum to teddy-bears, to food, to drinks. The first step is to determine which vending business gives you the best return on your money while taking the least amount of your time. 

Chose good balance.  Here is what I mean:  Assume you find a business that generates a great amount of money but takes a great deal of work.  What good is the money if you don’t have the time to spend it?  You may choose a business that takes four or more years to earn your money that requires a small time investment.

Investment securities, is an example. That is an excelllent way to leverage your time but with slow results and higher risk. There are many types of vending businesses that produce a healthy return on your money, however some are very labor intensive.  A perfect example of this would be the snack and drink business.

The snack and drink business is a great business.  After your product cost, and the time invested handling goods; you will have to have a large volume in close proximity to be successful. Bulk candy, gumball and similar type vending machines that have large capacities, are easy to service and are extremely impressive to the location. They give you the best chance to make the most money with the least amount of effort.
